Donna Tucker
VOCAL CLINICIAN
In 1996, Donna created a successful vocal jazz ensemble at Friends
University, Wichita, Kansas, and the group became a perfect example
of what vocal jazz is all about. Friends Unlimited became a greatly
requested performance group and brought great recognition to Tucker
as a director. Donna believes that a student needs the exposure
to a professional in the performance area....an ACTIVELY performing
professional and that's what Tucker is...actively performing as
well as coaching the students. She brings to the students a view
of life outside the classroom and away from their local stages.
Donna's performing experiences give the students a vision of what
the " path" requires. As a result of Tucker's success
working with students, she is an active summer camp clinician
and is highly regarded in her field.

Along with her desire to expose students
to her life and the concepts of performance, Donna also has the
capability of not only working with the students.....she brings
with her an entire event of performance. Over the years, Tucker
has collected a remarkable library of big band charts...many specifically
arranged for her by graduates from the jazz mecca....North Texas
State University and the One O'Clock Lab Band. Many communities
that Tucker visits have a community big band made up of members
including music educators, past professional musicians, and advanced
students. This package makes for a wonderful day/days of rehearsals
and a great performance. BEWARE: The musical charts in her library
are NOT elementary...they are quite advanced.
